NoRTHERN ILLINOIS' ONLINE GUIDE TO THE LOST AND FORGOTTEN

Welcome to Abandoned Illinois!

Welcome to Abandoned Illinois and thank you for visiting. Here you will find information and locations to some various lost and abandoned places strewn about northern Illinois. This website is a fun, but relaxed place where you can talk and hang out with all different sorts of people with your same interests in urban exploration from all walks of the digital world. Enjoy searching through this website and I hope that it may come as some help to you.

Since 2007, a small group of friends have gathered together to seek out and find local lost or abandoned locations.Today, the same passion and interests live on, but under a new name and with higher motive. Each founder of the group has a dedication for mystery and exploration that allows this passion to thrive. With this, we are eager to search for the lost and forgotten in what we call the Abandoned Illinois.

Please note that Abandoned Illinois does not support the idea of vandalism or the destruction of these locations by any means. Also be aware that exploring these locations may be considered illegal and very dangerous. Each member of our group recognizes these threats and explores at his or her own risk. This website and/or users are not responsible for any circumstances that you may incur during your explorations and we strongly advise that you also explore at your own risk. Be safe!

As of recently, the rights of photography and those of the photographers are being critically attacked. Many people are unaware of their actual legal rights as photographers and what is considered legal or illegal. Our friend Larry Eissler was kind enough to share some information with us on this situation. To read more about your photography rights, click here for a free downloadable and printable informational pamphlet.
